How Do Dentures Work?

Dentures are removable replacements for missing, chipped, broken, or infected teeth. You may choose partial or complete dentures. At Trinity Dental Practice, our dentist use partial dentures to replace select teeth and complete dentures to replace an entire row of teeth.

First, our dentist will make a series of impressions using measurements of your jaw and your bite and then examine the space between your upper and lower jawbones. Next, the dentist sends the impressions and information to a dental laboratory, which creates custom dentures that look just like your natural teeth and fit your mouth perfectly.

What are Implant-Supported Dentures?

Implant-supported dentures, also known as fixed dentures, provide additional stability and support through the use of dental implants. Your denture is anchored to your jaw through the use of a surgically placed implant. Once the implant is successfully inserted into your jawbone, your denture is attached to it. This allows you to eat, speak, and smile without the fear of your dentures becoming loose or slipping. You will also be able to care for your implant-supported dentures just like natural teeth with twice-daily brushing.
